Take a look and see what Montessori is all about.

Language

Language is the fundamental building block, and the foundation which all other learning is built upon.

At Hearts For Children, we place a strong emphasis on language as a valuable tool for not only learning, but interacting in society.

It is important to see a word and know what it says. It is equally important to be able to associate a word with what it represents in reality.

The three part card exercise helps with early reading.

Sand paper letters and associated objects give a tactile feedback to the child when forming the letter, thus engaging the senses to more deeply solidify the concept. This is an early form of reading and writing.

Writing is an essential form of communication.

Your child will be encouraged to express themselves through writing.

Learning not only to count with numerals, your child will learn to associate the recited number with a visible quantity of a given object.

Math

It is essential that math be introduced to your child as early as possible, so that later in life they will be prepared.

At Hearts 4 Children, we start with the basic building blocks, and work our way towards the more complex in order to assist in your child’s preparation for their future learning.

Math doesn’t need to be a difficult. With the Montessori method of instruction, it can be not only easy, but a fun experience!

Science

We place a strong emphasis on the sciences.

Our goal at Hearts 4 Children is to give your child a sound understanding of the universe they live in, and their place in it.

Sorting objects, and activities based on their existence in the air, water or on land.

Learning science can come in the most interesting forms, like these magnets.

The world GOD created is fascinating in so many ways and we will help your child to explore it.

Social Skills

The Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our goal is to not only explore the world we live in as individuals, but to exist in a society as GOD intended.

With this in mind, we promote kindness, loving interaction and peaceful play.

Cooperative play, as well as time to explore the world and its many wonders as individuals are equally important and both are encouraged at Hearts 4 Children.

Practical Life

Children love to imitate what they observe adults doing.

Activities such as cleaning, working with food and water, using utensils, tools and household appliances are some of the children’s favorite activities.

The Montessori method incorporates learning through the use of real materials with practical life exercises.

While this appears to be play, your child is refining their fine motor skills, learning order, concentration, coordination and independence through indirect learning.

Using tongs helps develop the pincer grasp that will be necessary when holding a writing tool.

Learning to love and care for others.

Older children are given the opportunity to assist the younger children, which encourages a sense of community.

Sensorial

Sensorial work is designed to engage all the senses in order help your child familiarize himself/herself with the world around them.

Your child will learn about the environment around them through all of their senses. Information such as size, shape, texture, similarity, temperature, weight and so on.

This is an advanced form of sensorial work. Recognizing and categorizing the subtle changes in color gradients takes time and intense concentration.

Push pin work helps develop fine motor skills needed for writing, concentration and body control.

This is an exercise in size differentiation

Toddler Community

In our toddler community, your child will be gently guided towards learning to work with beginning academic materials such as puzzles, sorting and other age appropriate learning materials..

Your child will learn to take responsibility for their own work area, choose which materials to work with, then restoring them and their work area to its proper condition when finished.

Your child will also learn to communicate and work cooperatively with others.

Potty learning is fostered here as well.
